SUBSTATION
At ECE, we have specialists who have designed framed buildings, over 100m long, for electrical substations. A substation essentially includes a battery room, switchgear room, LER and space for placing electrical panels. We understand the specific requirements, viz. floor cutouts, expansion joints, corner angles/ channels, floor finishes and so on.
DG sets are usually placed on the rear side covered under a shed connected to the main building columns. Multi-tier cable trays run in the cellar. These are sometimes buried in the ground, but usually supported off the slab soffit by hanger supports, for example, Hilti anchors. Our ‘tailor-made’ foundation design software is from among the best in the industry. We have used these on several projects to reduce foundation cost by up to 30%.
