PIPE BRIDGE

ECE specialists have a wide-ranging experience with steel structures carrying process piping. These include pipe bridges required to carry process pipes across plant roads.

Pipe bridges often pose a challenge to the designer in terms of the elevation at which one or more pipes have to be supported. The structure is often designed to ensure a clear height of at least 5.5m to enable the passage of the tallest vehicle underneath the bridge.

The stability of bridge structure, in the orthogonal direction, can be a challenge especially if the bridge is too long or if the pipes transfer huge friction loads in the transverse direction. Plan bracing is required to transfer these lateral forces to the supporting end frames.
